Randy Zell, 67, of Bonaire, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on September 18, 2019. Randy and I started our 5 th mob experience together in Tac Ops at Robins. We were team chiefs in the QRP together and deployed all over the world he was a brother to me and a lot of people prayers to Donna Great man, friend, neighbor, and would do anything to help. Had many great conversations and learned what a great person he was. He will be deeply missed. He was always bigger than life. Sorry for your loss. We will ALL miss him. Randy was a real friend, we share part of our lives as Veteran's and that is something to be proud of, and share He will be missed but never forgotten. Jim West RIP RANDY. I have just learned about randy's passing. I am so sorry. I knew him in the Mob, the hunting club, and at Chuck's. He was a fine man and will be missed. So Sorry for your loss. Randy fished w Steve (Spanky) Robinson. Then we delivered his newspaper to y'all every morning. We think about y'all everyday when we go by. I just learned of Randy's passing yesterday from a fellow classmate and am truly sorry to hear this. I met Randy one day at the base commissary when he noticed my Garmisch Germany t/shirt and recognized me from a Wiesbaden High School website. We struck up a conversation about our times and people from school. I was class of 1971. After that we ran into each other several more times in the commissary. It was always good memories of our youth in Germany. I wondered why I hadn't seen him in awhile so the news of his passing was a shock. My condolences to his family
He was born on February 8, 1952, at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, Alabama, to the late Phillip and Nadine Zell. He was a graduate of General H. H. Arnold High School in Wiesbaden, Germany, Class of 1970. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. During his time serving our country he traveled to thirty-two countries working in the 5th Mob and the QRP as a communications computer systems supervisor. He served in Desert Shield/Storm/Calm from 1990-1993. After retiring, he was an avid fisherman, sharing his expertise at Chuck's Bait and Tackle. If he was not at work or home, you could find him on Lake Joy catching bass. He was passionate about many things; his wife, children, grandchildren, The Alabama Crimson Tide and The Packers, Germany, beer, music, dancing, playing the drums, posting his song of the day on Facebook, YouTube, and much more.
He is survived by his beloved wife of seventeen years, Donna Zell of Bonaire; his sister, Ronda Salender (Rik) of Melbourne, Florida; his daughters, Jessie Francis (Michael) of Cochran, Kasey Allen (Chris) of Milledgeville; step-son, Steven Parks (Jennifer) of Pensacola, Florida; five grandchildren,Matthew, Kaden, Selene, Kalyse, and Addison.
The family will be accepting family and friends at his residence and services will be private.
